Backlog: Miniatures + My First Poppy Parker!!!

I bought my first Poppy Parker! Less than five minutes ago! I’m excited, can you tell? It was one I wanted beforehand as well. She’s nude but WHO CARES. I would like to find her outfit but it would cost as much as the doll! I found her for $180 (plus unecessarrily high shipping and tax crap bleh) but I don’t think I would have ever gotten another affordable chance.

This is “Miss Independence” from the Stay Tuned series. She’s meant to evoke a Mary Tyler Moore type of character, which is why I wanted her. Here are some of the pics from eBay!

ANYHOW. Back to my ridiculous backlog. Miniatures.

I have bought a ton of miniatures of various sorts and scales from a variety of marketplaces. I tend to cheat getting Minibrands/Miniverse stuff. I don’t wish to buy a billion capsules, nor do I want to complete collections. I just want to buy the ones I want! Etsy is a good place for finding them. I often buy Minibrands/verse from PocketbookPetals if they have what I’m looking for. Delightful, honest seller and always includes free goodies! Had to promote that particular shop! I bought most, if not all, of the next little bit from them. The first one I went for was Minibrands books series 1 & 2. They’re the perfect size for Barbie and friends. I apologise for the crap photos. I took them while being lazy on the couch lol.

All of these are childhood favourites. *Matilda* is one of my favourite books of all time. *Bunnicula* is also special to me. I was really excited to see these, and pleasantly surprised at others! If I could make a suggestion for another book from my grade school years, I would request *Ghost Eye*. The cover art would be so cool in miniature!

I love the all classics here! I will admit I haven’t read any *Vampire Diaries*. I got them because…vampires. Needed more spooky.

I opted for the rare version of *Dracula.*

And of course, Jane Austin and Emily Brönte! I wish there were more from them and their contemporaries in the books series. I really hope there will be more in series 3, if there is one.

Masterpieces;

I can’t remember if I ordered one of the Masterpieces or if it was a freebie! I say that because while I enjoy Jan van Eyck’s work, I probably would have chosen a different one. I’m happy to have it regardless! I did have a hard time putting it together, this is the first painting in the Masterpieces series I’ve gotten. I had to consult Gemini which is kind of sad, but I figured it out. These are nice and have texture!

There it is, along with more mini’s from the Books series. Cup & saucer and desk lamp. Putting the lamp together generated lots of swearing because my fat fingers and general fumbly-ness made it very difficult. I had to use the sharp tweezers to jimmy things into place and that was only slightly less of a pain.

And my favourite from Books who I’d forgotten I ordered…the librarian.

These are the first Minibrands I bought. Found some (Foodies?) capsules at Ollies several years ago and was curious because I’ve always liked miniatures! I was pretty impressed with them, particularly the Peeps! Come to think of it, I’m not sure about the bottle of syrup or whatever it is. I don’t remember where I got that one.

I confuse myself.

This is a Lava Lamp from some series…Minibrands Home or something. Bought it from the lovely store I previously referenced. This is a horrible pic, sorry. My phone often refuses to focus when I want it to.

There’s also a cute purple Tupperware style container as well as a diffuser, a freebie! Both from Minibrands Maison/Home I think? I cannot keep up with all the different series.

I got Blowhole Barbie solely because of her mouth and the glaring comedic possibilities it presented. I had to stick something in there…

A roughly 1:8 Model Amiga 500 from RetroComputersMuseum (etsy)! I bought this because a Commodore Amiga 500 was the first PC I laid hands on. My dad was a gadget guy, he loved computers. He got internet for our Amiga as soon as it was available to the public. I miss my dad. Added a pizza because….reasons.

1:6 Iron Maiden album from LoveOfColor3D (etsy). I love tiny albums!

Twinkies (and a cookie) by minimerchandise (etsy). It’s listed as 1:12. I was searching for smaller twinkies (1:24) for a diorama I’m starting to think will never get made, but this were the tiniest. I guess the scene will have some mega-twinkies lol. Aren’t they cute though?

Now for Temu/Aliexpress/Whatever Miniatures!

The downside. I don’t know if that wasn’t in the description or if I overlooked it. It’s a bit harder to use as a prop!

It’s garbage, but at least the lid opens I guess. 😅

I don’t know how I can use them because they’re pretty big…but they’re so cute and soft. I’ll find something! Or they can sit around and be adorable 🤷‍♀️
